As I can see you have noticed, by blog posts have been non-existant for quite some time. It seems like no matter how much I tell myself I’m going to update more, I just can’t see to find the motivation. I definatly appreciate everyone still checking on the site and bugging me to update. Right now I am really getting in this djing stuff and that is sucking up all of the time that I generally spend infront of my computer.
So my plan as far as the blog goes is to maybe re-vamp it a bit to make it geared more towards my music. But for now I am just going to take a break from it all together.
Thanks for reading thus far though! Let me know if any new blogs get started up, and I will check em out.

Ok here’s some exciting news. I’ve been messing around a bit with a few music programs lately and have come up with a few pretty cool mixes. This is the latest one I did and I thought I’d put it up for you guys to check out. I’d love to start DJ-ing for real at some clubs and stuff eventually, but so far I’m just messing around and seeing what is what.
Anyway, click on the link and check out this tune. Let me know what you think too cause I could use some feedback.
“This is serious.” - Busta Rhymes
UPDATE: ok here’s the finished version of that song. Basically I think my roomates are sick of hearing the same tune over and over again. So I’m going to quit while I’m ahead. Click here: 1779.mp3
My blog really has become a low priority on my list of things to do. Between work and video games…some things get put on the back burner haha. But I thought I’d put one up just to surprise all of the people that had given up on it.
The other night I watched the movie “Open Water” with Derek and Jen. It’s a movie about a married couple that take a vacation to a tropical beach resort which I think was in Australia. On this vacation they go on a dive boat for a day of diving out on the reefs…in open water…dun dun dun…
Basically they go on their dive, but a bit of confusion on the head count ends up with the couple surfacing to find that the boat had left without them and they are stuck in the middle of the ocean. The movie follows the divers as they face a day and a horrifying night, adrift at sea.
The movie at first seems rather amateur and I was worried that it may be a bit cheesy. But I actually found that this made the characters a little bit more believable when they were put in a difficult situation. I also found that when the actors were given the extra drama of their situation, it really helped them to appear better and I wonder if maybe it’s just the script at the beginning that gives the movie an amateur appearance.
The movie is based on a true story about a couple that went missing while on vacation. But the idea of them being lost at sea was never proven; it was just a theory about what had happened to them.
All in all I enjoyed the movie. It would defiantly be a frightening situation to be in, and I think that the movie portrays it in a believable way.
Here’s the trailer:
And here’s the trailer for the second one, “Open Water 2″ that’s coming out now as well, but doesn’t really look as good.
Anyway, blog post…check!

Over New years I headed to Tremblant with my cousins Carrie and Hayley. We had booked some beds at the same hostel that we stayed at a few years ago and I was really excited to see what the place was like. I was a little nervous about the snowboarding though because there had not been much snow and it had been very warm lately.
But when we got there we found that there were plenty of runs open and the hostel was exactly how we rememberd it. So we got three days of riding in and paried hard on new years eve!
The riding was a little bit icey, but it was great to get back on my board. We actually got pretty lucky because the day we left (January 1) it was pouring rain. Good planning.
So now I am back in Toronto and back to work. not much else to report really. I have posted all of the photos from our Tremblant adventure here or you can click the ‘my photos’ link on the right. Please ignore how completely wasted I look…I’m going to blame it on being tierd from snowboarding.
Word.

Ok so I know I have been MIA for the past few weeks with regards to updates. My excuse is that I have been doing some new training at work and the hours for that are not fun. I’ve been getting home around 8:30pm and after having dinner and trying to get a little bit organised for christmas, the last thing I am thinkng about is updating my blog. But I’m back to regular hours now, and christmas is over, so hopfully I will have some more time to goof around with the internet.
Christmas was really great. This was my first christmas at home in two years (last year I was in Whistler, and the year before I was in New Zealand) it was a little strange to be back at home, but I really enjoyed hanging out with the family. Once again I was completely spoiled with a sweet new video card, and a new hammock for the cottage. My gifts on the other hand were not a exciting. Another problem with working crappy hours before christmas is that you don’t have much time to get your shopping done. So the three DVD’s that I bought for my brother we not the correct ‘edition’ so I felt a little bad opening up the amazing video card that he got me, after my gifts to him had been pretty bad.
For new years eve I am again planning on going to Mt. Tremblant with Hayley and Carrie for some snowboarding and partying. We are going to be staying in the same hostel that we were in about 3 years ago, so I’m looking forward to that. Adam was ment to be joining us, but because of the weather and lack of snow he is having second thoughts, hopfully we can still convince him to get out of Toronto.
Other then that I have just been hanging out. Derek and Jen and I had a few people over on the 23rd (christmas eve, eve) and that was very fun. The Wii is an instant party.
Now I will be hanging out at my parents house for the next few days before I leave for Tremblant.
The other night we watched the movie ‘Jesus Camp’. I had heard about this movie but wasn’t really sure what to expect. And it turned out to be rather disturbing…
‘Jesus Camp’ is a documentary about Evangelical christians and how these religious extremists teach their kids about religion. It follows a few children as they go to “Kids on fire summer camp” a camp for charismatic evangelical Christians run by Pastor Becky Fischer in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota.
There are some pretty scary statistics in this movie about the amount of evangelicals in the USA, and the fact that if Evangelicals decide to vote a certain way, they could determine and election.
Now that I can embed video on my site I thought I’d put up the trailer for “Jesus Camp” so everyone could check it out. I definatly recommend this movie, it sheds some light on a very serious subject.
***UPDATE***: Here’s the whole movie ready to go on Dailymotion. Check it out if you’re looking for something to do.
On Saturday night, to celebrate Jen’s Birthday we went out to the ‘Food and Wine Expo’ at the Toronto Convention centre. It was pretty good. Kind of like beerfest, but a lot more sofisticated. We didn’t bring a camera so I’ve stolen a few pixely pics from the main website. It ended up being about $2 a glass of wine, and they used the same ticket system as beerfest ($1 tickets). There was also tons of food around and most of it was unbelievable.
So not a bad time at the food and wine expo. I also don’t think I have been to the convention centre before so it was pretty cool to check out that place.
I love snow. The other night coming home from work I saw the first snow of the season. It wasn’t much but it was there. Perfect timing too cause I have (finally) received my new jacket, so I’m all set. Plus I’ve all but confirmed another New Years adventure to Tremblant! woop woop! Things are looking up.
In other news, Derek got a Wii. It’s pretty cool so far. The game play really is something new. So far the games that come with the system seem to be like tutorials on how to use the controller and things. I can’t wait to see what other types of games they will come out with. I haven’t played the PS3 yet, but so far I’m liking the Wii.

I have finished a book though…wow exciting. It’s pretty cool that I read it at work, while working! It’s been kind of dead at work these days so I have a lot of time when I’m not on calls. Good for reading, and I’ve actually started trying to teach myself how to draw as well. The novel that I read was called “MEG”. Drew recomended it to me and he was right as usual. It’s about a giant shark species that has survived a few million years by staying at the bottom of this really deep trench where the water is warmer because of liquid ‘MAGMA’ that is in the center of the earth, blah blah blah… Then the shark finds away up to th esurface and starts eating people all over the place! Kind of like JAWS, but with a massive shark like bigger then a whale kinda massive. Now I’m starting the sequel so I hope it doesn’t get busy at work.
I’m also getting really into the show “Entourage”. It’s such a cool idea for a show, and the characters are really good. I guess it’s another series that you really had to be watching from the beginning, but that’s what downloading is for right?
Anyway, other then that, same old. Did a bit of work on the bike last thursday, but nothing to write home about. Seems I’m going to need a few more parts then i originaly though, go figure. But it’s still fun to mess around with it (thanks for the help Isham)
I’ve also decided to give a regular work out schedule a try again cause I’ve been feeling pretty useless and skinny!!! So I’m gonna give it another shot, hopfully I have as much success as Drew. We’ll see. I’ve joined the gym at work, it’s pretty small, but it has everything I need and it’s usually pretty dead in there.
But other then that, same old! Chillin’. thinking about a New Years trip somewhere cold. Tremblant is calling and Hayley is down so that’s looking like it’s going to be the go.
