Clean Da Street

I live on Spadina Road. A fairly busy street in Toronto. Every night between 11:30 and 12 we have the street cleaner go by. EVERY night…

I’ve gotta ask myself, how dirty could this street possibly get? And are there not other streets around Toronto that could use the odd cleaning as well? Is it really that necessary to have this guy come by every night and clean our street.

What do street cleaners actually do anyway? To me it just looks like they blow all of the dirt around. But maybe they have some sort of vacuum that sucks up the dirt after they stir it up.

I’m pretty sure that this is just some sort of make work project by the government. The guy is probably in a union which won’t allow him to do any other routes then our street, or maybe he just really like’s Spadina road and really wants to see it clean…

What are you gonna do?

the street cleaner thingy sucks up all the sand and shit while spraying water on the street to keep the dust down, then he dumps it, then that sandy crap is filtered and sifted, then stored in those sand dome thingys until winter, where the sand is put back on the road.
we have 2 of them @ work, and i drive by the dirty sand pile in the yard everyday…

    Cool eh?
