So I have finally started working on something that I have wanted to do since I got back from Whistler. On Friday night, I went to Madison with Derek, Jen and Holly. On the way home, we happened to stumble past a random bike just leaning against a wall of a house that was under construction. Now I know what everyone is thinking “You stole a BIKE?!”, but if you saw the condition that this bike was in, and the way it was left, you would agree that I did not ’steal’ it…I saved it from a trip to the landfill. So nobody yell at me, saying I stole it.

So yeah! I’m going to make it my mission to restore this bike and use it next summer. It is going to be A LOT of work, but fixing up a bike is something that I have always wanted to do.

Not ONLY am I going to restore and rebuild the bike, but I’m also going to keep a log or “B-log” of it’s progress on this…well…blog? But please remember that I have never done anything like this before, and I will be teaching myself as I go. So there you go! A little bit of exciting news for ya’ll!

So I’ve been reading a lot of stories lately involving people getting questioned by police, or even arrested simply because of the technology that they are carrying. Not because they are doing anything suspicious with this technology, but just because the gadgets that they are using are not widely known yet.

For example, you may have heard about the guy who dropped his ipod in an airplane toilet by accident, and the plane ended up making an emergency landing and authorities questioned everyone on board for hours! Click here if you want to read the whole story, it’s pretty funny.

Sure, an ipod in a toilet could be a little bit suspicious, but the guy tried to explain what happened before it got out of hand, and I think a rational person would have figured out that it was not an emergency and nobody was trying to blow up the plane.

There is another article that I was reading about a guy getting pulled out of his car in D.C. because police were suspicious of his PSP. Granted, the PSP is a very powerful gadget, but I really think that most people use it for what it was designed for rather than overthrowing governments. Click here for the link

I don’t really know what the solution for this is. I mean you could educate police and authorities about new technology and portable gadgets that are out, but it would be almost impossible to keep them informed on EVERY new toy released. This was just a bit of a trend that I was noticing and I thought I’d throw it out there. Just want to make sure that I don’t end up in prison for life just for listening to my MP3 player outside city hall.

So this weekend was pretty good all around. My friend Al from whistler is here visiting and it’s been pretty cool having him around.

Friday night we went out to Taste Of The Danforth with Adam, Ryan, Isham and Isham’s cousin. It was a good time. We just ended up playing some pool after having some food. Then we headed back over to Madison to finish the night off. Pretty funny at the end of the night, I was pretending that I was Australian with Al as my backup (he IS australian) and we went around talking to girls. Everyone bought it, and we got two phone numbers out of it as well as a cab ride to a Karaoke Bar. Good times.

Saturday I went over to Adam for a bit of a chill out. Played street fighter 2…classic.

Then Sunday was Beerfest I headed down with Derek, but we had a whole crew there. It was pretty fun and got pretty sloppy by the end of the day. Nothing like sitting in the sun drinking beer ALLL day! It was so fun infact, that I had to take Monday off work just to deal with how much fun it really was…
